Lead analyst/document manager for installation of cross-Divisional compliance tracking software for federally-licensed State Water Project facilities.
- Department of Natural Resources, Sacramento, CA Strategic Business Analyst (2009–2010)
Project lead on initiative to improve sustainability and governance of statewide environmental data storage for federated geospatial digital repositories. Developed and maintained relationships with Agency sponsors and key stakeholders, from front-line biologists to federal policy-makers. Facilitated communication and collaboration between participating agencies and ensured alignment of all parties’ goals, expectations and supporting technology; built consensus on required datasets, protocols and metadata across all agencies.
- Department of General Services, Real Estate Division, Strategic Planning Project Lead (2008–2010)
Guided this 4000 employee Division through two successive strategic engagements, reviewing then-current strategic plan and governance structures and facilitating the development of an updated Strategic Plan within a performance-base management context. Developed effective governance protocols with upper management at Divisional and Departmental levels. Conducted training sessions on project management skills, with a focus on project planning, initiation and execution. Facilitated Divisional Strategic Planning Team in its drafting of organizational vision, goals and objectives; facilitated Branch feedback sessions. Established communication, change management and risk management plans. Crafted 2010-2012 Divisional Strategic Plan, with aligned Branch Plans and implemented performance management framework (Balanced Scorecard) with performance metrics and targets.
- Department of Motor Vehicles, Project Lead, Business Analyst (2007–2008)
Led a consulting team tasked with reviewing the management practices of 13 representational field offices and with providing recommendations for improving organizational efficiency. Offered recommendations, which have been adopted, regarding staffing, cross-training and hiring practices.
Established process improvements in management of customer processing and provided recommendations for improving customer traffic patterns, which have since been incorporated into improved field office desing components. Designed change management strategy and oversaw its initial implementation.
- Clos Saron Vineyard and Winery, Business Analyst and Change Agent (2004–2006)
Presided over the transition from a great hobby wine to a nationally recognized premium California mountain-terroir wine of distinction, through analysis of processes in the field and press hall, employee training and retention and refining of wine style and presentation. Guided transition toward new brand identity based on customer input and expert opinion, while maintaining the essence and integrity of the product.Revised vineyard management strategies based on best practices and customized for the exigencies of the Sierra Foothills and facilitated engagement with other local growers, to create opportunities for shared resources, distribution and marketing.
