CASE Workshops: A Jumpstart Approach
In ten days, we conduct a custom workshop aimed at giving your team a thorough working knowledge of how to use Oracle's Designer on a project at hand. Avoiding a "canned" case study, we make the most of participants' familiarity with real-world user requirements. We share the skills needed to analyze, design and generate a small application system together using Oracle Designer and Oracle's structured development techniques. This innovative approach delivers training in a very digestible and practical form. The result is a small, working systems prototype.
Designer Training Courses
We offer courses for business systems analysts, end users and managers, designers and developers of applications systems who plan to use Oracle Designer on projects. Our courses range from a one-day Oracle Designer Overview to a full set of hands-on courses for project members who will be working closely with the toolset. Course titles include:
- Oracle Designer Introduction (5 days)
- Oracle Systems Analysis and Design Techniques (3 days), a methods class
We recommend following the training courses with an Oracle Designer workshop and/or a pilot project to consolidate the learning experience and lead to future expertise.
Pilot Projects Using Oracle Designer
After standard training courses, system designers may return to their desks and wonder how to use Designer for a serious, real-life project. The pilot project uses our team leadership on a small but serious systems development exercise to transfer the technology of how to use Designer for larger projects to come. Pilot projects can range in length from 4 to 16 weeks, depending on scope.
Oracle Analysis and Modeling Techniques Workshop
For those who need a thorough grounding in how to create excellent data, function and process models ? with or without the use of particular CASE tools like Oracle Designer ? we recommend this intensive methods workshop. The workshop approach enables us to focus on real examples of your own business functions and information requirements as participants learn to analyze, model and assure the quality of deliverables in preparation for systems design. Three to five days is recommended for this course, depending on the experience level of participants.
We will lead teams or projects where you need to transfer skills in using Oracle Designer, or require our expertise in Enterprise Information Systems, data warehousing,
Business Process Reengineering, strategic IS planning, user interviewing, systems analysis, function and data modeling, and process modeling.
